Students are required to be in possession of the following documents:
- Valid passport;
- One passport size photograph;
- Completed Visa Application Form J (signature is required):
- For Section 5, “Arriving in” refers to the Port of Entry into the USA, “on” refers to the date of said arrival; and “coming from” refers to the Port/Country of Departure;
- For “References”, persons without a personal contact in Jamaica, may use the address of the hotel/Airbnb/ accommodation of their host.
- Valid visa, as appropriate (for non-US citizens);
- Return ticket valid for one (1) year;
- Letter of acceptance from the school or institution which the student will be attending:

- If the school intends to cover the cost of accommodation, airline travel, tuition and / or cost of living, the letter should clearly confirm same.
- Adequate funds to cover expenses for one (1) year in the first instance, if self-financed;
- Visa fees:
- Visa fees will comprise the Fees as outlined in the Visa Fees Schedule, which must be added to a consular/ administrative fee of US$20 and a FedEx fee of $20.00;
- If you are submitting by mail, kindly ensure that the Money Order is made payable to the Jamaican Consulate;
- Processing time: 7-10 business days upon receipt of all documents.
