FIRST TIME APPLICATIONS: ADULTS
If you are applying from overseas please have the following documents ready and then contact the nearest Jamaican Consulate/Mission for the necessary fees and procedures to be followed on submitting your passport application.
- Current Passport
- Birth Certificate/Adoption Certificate or Jamaican Citizenship Certificate
- Two (2) identical Photographs ( NB//: one photograph must be certified by the same certifying official who certified the application)
- Proof of name change if name has been changed (Marriage Certificate, Deed poll, Divorce Decree, Court Order)
Cost for first time applicant (adult) : USD $120
The acceptable forms of payment are cash, or debit card (a 4% surcharge is applied by the banking machine used for debit card) for in-person appointments, Only.
FIRST TIME APPLICATIONS: MINORS
- Original Birth Certificate or Certificate of Citizenship or Adoption Register;
- Parents ID such as passport, drivers licence, national voters ID;
- Legal Guardians are required to submit a court order along with their ID or a notarised letter of consent from the parent(s) and their ID.
- All applicants must apply in person either at the Embassy or through the nearest Jamaican Consulate.
Cost for first time applicant (minor) : USD $90
The turnaround time will be approximately 10-14 weeks, upon compliance. At the same time, the Consulate General of Jamaica, New York, and the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency, reserve the right to request additional and / or updated documents in order to ensure the completion of the process.
